AUTODESK EVENT ANALYSIS
Incident Number: #coe-inc133480-unified-parameters
Incident Date: January 07, 2026
Summary
On January 07, 2026, between 02:00 AM PST and 06:59 AM PST, Autodesk experienced a service disruption that caused customers to receive 5xx errors when accessing or modifying parameters via the Autodesk Parameters Service APIs in the US region.
Impacted Services
- Autodesk Parameters Service: customers could not reliably read or modify parameters through the parameter-service APIs.
Root Cause
- Enabling the unified logger in production (while it remained disabled in staging) caused unbounded growth in event-listener registrations and generated “Max listener exceeded” warnings; under production load this led to intermittent ECS container crashes consistent with listener exhaustion or a memory leak.
- How it was resolved: The unified-logger rollout was disabled in the affected region, which stopped the container crashes and restored service availability; a targeted root-cause investigation is underway to identify and fix the exact code or configuration that permitted listener growth.
Autodesk Actions
Autodesk has completed a post-incident analysis of the event and identified actions to be taken. These include the following:
- We disabled the recent logging change in the affected region to immediately restore service and stop customer-facing errors.
- We will perform a focused investigation to determine why the logging change caused service processes to fail, implement a permanent fix, and validate the fix in a test environment before deployment to production.
- Improvements to detection and notification processes so similar issues are identified more quickly, to reduce time to remediate.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
