Summary Revit Cloud Models (RCM) and Revit Cloud Worksharing (RCW) experienced a degradation on March 23, 2023 from 9:39 AM EDT to 10:48 AM EDT.
Our metrics indicate that most customers were unaffected during this period. However, some customers in our US and EMEA regions may have experienced intermittent failures while browsing BIM360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud projects, folders, and models from Revit. They may have also experienced intermittent failures when using the Initiate Collaboration workflow to save new models to the cloud.
Root Cause
The degradation occurred when traffic to the foundational service responsible for authentication was automatically limited, a safeguard put in place to avoid disruption to customer traffic under normal conditions. This limit was adjusted, restoring the service to a fully operational state.
Actions We’re Taking to Prevent Similar Disruptions
We recognize how important uptime is to our customers and strive to learn from every disruption. We are still analyzing the factors that contributed to this outcome.
In addition to the aforementioned adjustment to restore the service to a fully operational state, some of the actions we have identified include:
Improve alerts to accelerate response to potential issues with service health.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this disruption may have caused for you and your teams and thank you for your continued support.
