Summary

On September 16, 2022, Autodesk experienced a database performance degradation that impacted customers using BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud unified platform Insight Executive level pages, including the Data Connector UI, between 9:55 AM PDT and 10:45 AM PDT.

Impacted Services

The following pages were not loading in BIM 360 and Autodesk Construction Cloud unified platform products:

Root Cause

Turning off auto-vacuuming temporarily caused a database query to slow down and eventually time out.

Autodesk Actions

Autodesk has completed a post-incident analysis of the event and identified actions to be taken. These include the following:

Turning the auto-vacuuming process back on.
Increasing the database maximum throughput capacity, by increasing the instance size.
Improving incident response time by adding additional monitoring.
Increasing the resiliency of the Data Connector UI by removing unnecessary API calls.

Current status: Service Degradation. We are still experiencing degraded performance. Our team is currently working to resolve the issue.

BIM 360 customers are experiencing issues where executive view/dashboards in BIM 360 Insight are not accessible for users. All project level dashboards are working as expected.
