Summary
On April 23, 2025 between 6:50 AM PDT and 7:39 AM PDT, Autodesk experienced an issue that impacted customers viewing PDF files in APS - Model Derivative.

Root Cause

  • The issue was caused by a capacity problem within the translation service, which led to a spike in authentication failures. This was due to an unexpected high volume of traffic that overwhelmed the translation servers.
  • The translation service capacity was increased and the issue was resolved.

Autodesk Actions
Autodesk has completed a post-incident analysis of the event and identified actions to be taken. These include the following:

  • Implement improvements to have redundant servers to handle traffic spikes in the future.
  • Implement monitoring enhancements to detect and mitigate authentication failures.

Resolved

On April 23, 2025 at 6:41 AM PDT, Autodesk identified an issue where customers were unable to translate and view the PDF files in APS - Model Derivative. Once the issue was resolved on April 23, 2025 at 7:39 AM PDT, APS - Model Derivative returned to normal operation. This is a retroactive notification as this issue did not display on the Autodesk Health Dashboard at that time. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
