Summary
On March 24, 2025, between 9:00 AM PDT until March 26, 2025, at 1:45 PM PDT, Autodesk experienced a service disruption that impacted customers using Autodesk Platform Services (APS) Developer Portal in all regions. Customers were unable to create and edit applications, transfer ownership, rotate client secrets and change team assignment for their applications.

Root Cause
A new cloud region was provisioned by Autodesk’s cloud service provider. The new region setup took longer than expected, and one of the sub-components started accepting administrative traffic, resulting in only administrative traffic being served by the new region and not live traffic.

Autodesk Actions
Autodesk has completed a post-incident analysis of the event and identified actions to be taken. These include the following:

  • Modifications to regional setup process.
  • Utilize planned maintenance windows for events during which the APS Developer portal will be in read-only mode.
  • Improvements to monitoring and alerting on Administrative Traffic.
