Summary
On March 26, 2024, between 7:50 AM PDT and 10:30 AM PDT, the Specifications tool of Autodesk Build and Autodesk Docs experienced a service disruption that impacted customers using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) in the US region.
Impacted Services
Customers in the US region were unable to access the Specifications tool from Autodesk Build and Autodesk Docs in ACC.
Customers in the US region were unable to upload and publish specifications in Autodesk Build and Autodesk Docs in ACC.
Root Cause
The disruption occurred because of a high volume of concurrent users accessing the Specifications tool and trying to upload and publish specification documents simultaneously. The database instance in the US region was unable to handle the volume of traffic to access the tool, and caused a bottleneck of queued API calls to complete the process of publishing uploaded documents.
Autodesk Actions
Autodesk has completed a post-incident analysis of the event and identified actions to be taken. These include the following:
Upgrading the database instances to support higher volumes of concurrent users in the US, European Union, and Australia regions.
Refining the escalation process for rapid ownership and response.
Closely monitoring customer traffic for utilization spikes.
