Summary
On October 10, 2024, between 4:00pm PDT and 7:45pm PDT, Autodesk identified an issue with customers accessing the Parameters Service front end, accessible from the ACC Account Administration Library page within the Revit desktop application. The list of parameters belonging to their account would fail to load and consequently the user interface could not function, impacting customers using the Parameters Service with Revit.

Impacted Services

• Revit – Users were unable to add new parameters from the Parameters Service, associated with an ACC Account Administration Library, to a .rvt or .rfa file.

Root Cause

• New feature work involved construction of a new operation in the Parameters API and associated user interface controls in the Parameters Service. The new user interface controls in the Parameters Service front end were disabled by a feature flag. However, new code in the Parameters Service front end was sending a request to the new operation in the Parameters API while loading parameters, even with the feature flag disabled.

Autodesk Actions
Autodesk has completed a post-incident analysis of the event and identified actions to be taken. These include the following:

• Address the defect causing data inconsistency
• Monitoring improvements to the Parameters Service
• Improve insights by implementing anomaly detection
