AUTODESK EVENT ANALYSIS
Incident Number: # COE-INC106209
Incident Date: January 22, 2024

Summary

On January 22, 2024, Autodesk experienced a service degradation that impacted customers using BIM 360 Field Management between 2:36 AM PST and 3:05 AM PST.

Impacted Services

  • Customers using the BIM 360 Field Management US regional offering may have experienced failures while attempting to upload photos to daily logs from the web or a mobile device

Root Cause

  • The daily logs attachment micro-service was unable to process requests due to a memory issue caused by the maximum call stack size being exceeded.

Autodesk Actions

Autodesk has completed a post-incident analysis of the event and identified actions to be taken. These include the following:

  • Implement the use of a scheduler to restart the containers for all micro-services daily so the stack memory will be automatically cleared every day.
  • Define rules to detect unhealthy containers so that the deployment service can automatically stop and restart them.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
