Summary
On April 15, 2025 between 1:00 AM PDT and 4:50 PM PDT, Autodesk experienced an issue that impacted customers using the APS - AEC Data Model API.

Impacted Services

  • APS - AEC Data Model API

Root Cause

  • The API backend experienced database throttling while attempting to process a large number of updates due to a rate limitation. This resulted in customers experiencing latency while trying to create and upload files within APS - AEC Data Model API.
  • Adjustments were made to rate limits and service returned to normal operation.

Autodesk Actions
Autodesk has completed a post-incident analysis of the event and identified actions to be taken. These include the following:

  • Implement improvements to alert processes when resources reach a certain threshold to expedite response and resolution.
  • Implement resource rate limits and back-off strategies to mitigate the issue from occurring in the future.
