Summary

On September 12, 2022 and September 13, 2022, Autodesk experienced a service degradation that impacted customers on the U.S. data center using the Issues tool within Autodesk Construction Cloud unified products and BIM 360.

Timeframe:

  • September 12, 2022 between 9:31AM PDT and 2:02 PM PDT
  • September 13, 2022 between 6:48 AM PDT and 8:03 AM PDT

Impacted Services

  • The Issues tool was intermittently unavailable, and customers using Autodesk Construction Cloud unified products or BIM 360 may have experienced problems with viewing or updating issues.

Root Cause

  • While in the process of a data migration, the Issues service became CPU bound resulting in failed API calls.

Autodesk Actions

Autodesk has completed a post-incident analysis of the event and identified actions to be taken. These include the following:

  • Maintenance and cleaning up database records.
  • Database optimizations.
  • Enhancements to command processor and indexing to improve resiliency.
  • Improvement to monitoring capabilities.

Customers using these products are able to use the Issues tool now. Team is continuing to monitor the environment.
